| On January 7th, 2012 Station 48 was dispatched to assist the East Brandywine Fire Company(49) along with Honey Brook(33-5), R.I.T. out of Twin Valley(69), Westwood Amb.144, and Medic 93 for a reported dwelling fire at 108 Edna's Lane in West Brandywine Township.
Chief49(Edwards) arrived on the scene and reported "smoke showing" from the exterior of the two story home. Chief 48(Seese) arrived on the scene shortly after and established "Edna's Lane Command."
Command advised Engine 49 to lay a five(5) inch supply line in from Germany Hollow Road . Once the line was laid the engine crew deployed a 1 3/4 inch attack line to the interior of the dwelling.
Ladder 49 arrived deploying ground ladders to the exterior of the home and making their way to the roof in the area of the Chimney.
Engine 48-1(Muller) pulled in behind Engine 49 and picked up the five(5) inch supply line. The crew then assisted in opening up the outside of the structure to locate the fire. Once located the fire was quickly extinguished. The bulk of the fire was contained to the first floor exterior wall between the chimney and the brick fire place.
Crews remained on the scene until Fling's Towing removed several stuck vehicles from the scene. Special thanks to Daryl Fling and his crews for a prompt response to ensure our apparatus was safely removed. |
