Around 5:50am on Monday, January 9th, Station 48 along with an Engine from Station 49 were dispatched for a Motor Vehicle Accident in the 900 Block of Springton Road. Shortly after responding, Chief 48 was alerted by Chester County 911 that the vehicle accident had one trapped still inside the vehicle and was overturned. Rescue 48 and Engine 48 with a crew of 11 responded along with Engine 49 to stabilize the vehicle and assist in removing the patient via hydraulic rescue tools. Squad 48 and Traffic 49 provided traffic control. The crews also used Rescue Struts (JYD's) to stabilize the vehicle which was on its side. The patient was safely removed from the wreckage and care was transferred to Ambulance 144 and Medic 93 for transportation to the Hospital. GMFC was assisted at the scene by PSP and Stacy's Towing for removal of the vehicle. Units were dispatched into EBFC's local for a Automatic Fire Alarm upon clearing this accident call. That call turned out to be a false alarm and crews returned to the station.
