Happy National EMS week! May 20 – 26, 2018 is the 44th annual National EMS Week. This week we recognize our emergency medical providers. At the Glen Moore Fire Company we have a number of volunteer Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) that dedicate their time to assisting the community with medical emergencies. The Glen Moore Fire Company does not have its own ambulance, however; it provides Emergency Medical Services (EMS) in the form of a Quick Response Service or more commonly referred to as “QRS”. The “QRS” designation is a Pennsylvania Department of Health certified unit that while does not provide transport services, it does contains most of the live saving equipment found on an ambulance. Our QRS unit is equipped to respond to and assist in the care of patients in the prehospital setting. Sometimes, the quick response of the Glen Moore Fire Company prior to the ambulance arrival can mean the difference between life and death for our patients. The GMFC QRS unit is staffed by our own volunteers who are trained as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT). The Glen Moore Fire Company would like to recognize and thank our current EMT's:

Our QRS unit works in conjunction with the following local ambulance companies: Westwood Fire Company Ambulance - Wagontown Division; Elverson-Honey Brook Ambulance; Uwchlan Ambulance; and Brandywine Hospital Medic 93.

EMS week as a whole is a time to recognize and appreciate all of our emergency medical providers. If you happen to see one of these providers this week make sure to thank them for all that they do!
