This evening 20 volunteers gathered for drill tonight in the rain for some hoseline operations and techniques. Everyone was paired up in teams of 2. Each team took turns in either pulling the cross lays or the front bumper line, full gear was worn along with airpacks. Once the hoseline was pulled it was then charged and the team had to pul the hoseline through a cone obstacle course. Once that was complete the crews were then assinged to the engines. The next scenario was a building fire in the rear part of station 48. ENG481 arrived and advanced a hoseline through the side door, ENG485 arrived and advanced a back up hoseline to the interior. There both hose teams advanced through a obstacle course in the engine room.

With everything cleaned up and packed back on CHF48 (King) wanted to address the front bumper line and asked for opinions on how it should be packed. After several different packing configurations were tried out, finally one was chosen. At that time the front bumper line was packed back on and pulled back off several times to make sure it is what the volunteers wanted. It also gave the volunteers time to see and try how to pull the line, as well as pack it back on. With this configuration the front bumper line is now 200 foot and can be deployed by 1 firefighter. G4
