On May 24, 2016 the Chester County Department of Emergency Services held its Firefighter I graduation ceremony. Glen Moore Fire Company’s own J.R. Phillips was among the 24 other cadets that completed the 172 hour basic level firefighting course. This class is only the beginning of the training firefighters partake in and gives them basic knowledge and skills required to function safely and effectively as a member of a fire fighting team. Firefighter Phillips also received training in Hazardous Materials Operations, CPR/AED, and Structural Burn training. The final test was the successful completion of the PA State Volunteer certification and National Firefighter I, both written and practical.

During the ceremony the class and guests that were in attendance heard special presentations by Deputy Director George "Beau" Crowding, President of the fire chiefs association, Deputy Chief Neil Vaughn, and Lead Instructor John DeMarco to name a few.

The officers and member of the Glen Moore Fire Company join together to congratulate Firefighter J.R. Phillips on this great accomplishment. Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to both the company and your community.
