Firefighter 1 Graduation

Last evening, several members of the Glen Moore Fire Company attended the Firefighter 1 graduation for Ethan Matlack. Ethan recently completed the training program at the Bucks County Public Safety Training Center. The goal of this program is provide basic knowledge and skills to perform firefighting duties safely and efficiently on the fire ground. The class included Hazmat Operations, CPR/AED, and a Structural Burn component. All Students are required to show proficiency in numerous skills as well pass written exams to graduate.

In addition to completing FF1 training, Ethan has completed training as a Basic Vehicle Rescue Technician. He also graduated from the Homeland Security and Protective Services Academy through the Octorara School District. He was named “Student of the Quarter” for the fourth quarter of the school year. Ethan has completed the training to become certified as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and is currently preparing for the national exam.

Ethan joined the Glen Moore Fire Company in 2017 as a junior firefighter. He has several family members who are members of the fire company. In addition to all the training and his commitment to the fire company over the past year and half, Ethan also earned the honor of becoming an Eagle Scout. Ethan graduated high school in June 2018 and will be attending Widener University in a few weeks.
