Last Wednesday evening, the members of the Glen Moore Fire Company completed the second part of the annual Haz Mat Operations course. Jim Kettler from Bucks County Community College provided the classroom instruction this evening.

This evening's discussion focused on different types of hazardous materials that firefighters might come in contact with during "routine" calls. These include propane, carbon dioxide, and carbon monoxide. There was a review of the Emergency Response Guidebook as well as the various markings used to identify materials and cargo. There was also a review of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and how to locate information about the hazardous material.
