On Sunday 3/3/2019, the Glen Moore Fire Company responded to two calls - one for a house fire and other for smoke in the dwelling.

At 12:50pm, GMFC was dispatched to assist Station 35 on a house fire in West Clan Township. Chief 35 (Wagontown Fire Company) requested two additional tankers for the assignment. Engine 48-5 made the response with a crew of 6. Engine 48-5 arrived on scene was instructed to park in the staging area. Fortunately, the fire was quickly controlled and GMFC's services were not needed.

Later that evening at 7:20pm, GMFC was dispatched for a smoke in the dwelling call in our first due area. Crews responded in the snow and found smoke billowing out of the flue of a wood stove. The attic and basement both were filled with smoke. Crews cleaned out the stove and looked for hot spots. The house was then ventilated to clear out the remainder of the smoke.

The Glen Moore Fire Company would like to thank our mutual aid companies for assisting us with this call in the snowy weather - East Brandywine Fire Company (49); Lionville Fire Company (47); Ludwig's Corner Fire Company (73).
