Two Call Tuesday

On Tuesday 6/4/2019, the Glen Moore Fire Company was dispatched for two mutual aid calls.

At 1:45am, GMFC was dispatched to assist the Ludwig's Corner Fire Company (Station 73) on a working apartment building fire. Engine 48-5 made the response with a crew of 6. The roof of the building was fully engulfed and had collapsed onto the upper floor. Upon arrival, crews placed several handlines in service on the back and side of the building to assist with exterior fire suppression efforts. Once the fire was knocked, crews joined other fire companies with an interior attack and secondary search. Command then ordered all firefighter's out of the building so that master streams from the ladder trucks could be put in service to extinguish the remaining fire. Crews then assisted with overhaul operations. GMFC volunteers were in service for approximately 5 hours before being released.

The members of GMFC would like to recognize and commend the first arriving police officers and firefighters who entered the burning building to rescue and evacuate the residents. There were no injuries to any residents thanks to the brave and quick work from these first responders.

The members of the Glen Moore Fire Company want to extend our thoughts and prayers to all the residents who were affected by the fire.

We also want to thank the Honey Brook Fire Company (Station 33) for providing coverage in GMFC's first due area during the fire. HBFC also assisted with cleaning the engine and equipment and packing over 1000 feet of hose onto Engine 48-5.
