| April 6th, 2013, the Glen Moore Fire Company held our Annual Awards Banquet for 2012.
At 7pm Chaplain David Hicks provided the blessing followed by a buffet style meal and dessert assortment. Soon after the meal, President Scott Welker introduced our visiting municipal guests from Wallace and Upper Uwchlan Townships along with the Administrative Officers for 2012 and 2013. President Welker then introduced Chief Jeffrey Seese who introduced our guests from our neighboring fire companies and police departments. This year's Special Recognition Awards were presented by President Welker. President Welker presented Wallace Township with a photo of our new Engine 48-5. Wallace Township was very instrumental in the purchase of our new rig. The Board of Supervisors has always been a great supporter of Station 48. They stepped up as our partner in this project and the officers and members are extremely thankful for their commitment. Also receiving photos of Engine 48-5 were the members of the Truck Committee. The committee did a great job of providing the community with a functional rig for the next twenty years. Lieutenant Craig Muller moved into his presentation for Junior Firefighter of the Year. Lt. Muller is in charge of Glen Moore's Junior Firefighter Program. For the past two years he has worked very closely with our juniors preparing them for the next step in the fire service. The 2012 Junior Firefighter of the Year was presented to William(Billy) Quinn.
Chief Seese then presented a Special Service Award to Chief Joseph Edwards of the East Brandywine Fire Company. Chief Edwards was presented the award for his dedication and commitment to the fire service over the last 30 years, and his leadership while he served as Fire Chief at Station 49. The officers and members would like to congratulate all those receiving this year's awards for standing out amongst their peers. Special thanks to Desiree Seese for planning a great event again this year, DJ Marc Hayford for providing the entertainment, and to Belfor who has been a generous supporter of Station 48 and all the Chester County fire companies for many years. |
