| On June 7th, 2014, The Glen Moore Fire Company held a Chicken BBQ in conjunction with Wallace Township's Community Day.
We started prepping food early at GMFC. Cole slaw was made, potaoes were wrapped, desserts were packaged all in time to get the smell of BBQ throughout Glenmoore by 1100.
As the official Community Day kicked off at 1700, the public gathered on the ball field for a special presentation led by the Wallace Township Board of Supervisors.
An automatic external defibrillator was installed at the park in January following a recommendation by Past EMS Chief Sly to the Township using funds which were donated in memory of Joshua Tomlinson; a young Wallace resident who lost his life in a car accident in 2001.
Wallace Township Supervisors Chairman Rob Jones welcomed all in attendance and discussed the placement of the AED to the residents and family members of Joshua who were in attendance for an official dedication ceremony. He then introduced Chief Sly who gave an overview of the AED, its intended use, and the reasoning behind installing this important life saving device in the community.
By 1815 pm all the meals were sold out and the crew was celebrating another successful Wallace Township Community Day.
Community Day was followed up by a movie in the park and free popcorn for anyone interested.
GMFC would like to thank Wallace Township and Wallace Township Parks and Recreation for another great event. |
