Wednesday night for G4 training 21 members loaded up the apparatus and headed off to the newly renovated Peter J Camiel Plaza for a tour of the facility. Arriving at the plaza we were shown the opeartion of the new automatic gate that can now be accessed from the drivers side of the apparatus instead of getting out and opening the gate manually by hand. Once inside the plaza we were given a tour of the building including the emegrency shut offs for the gas, electric, gasoline, the Ansul system above the fryers and grills and the new water system that holds 3000 gallons of water.
While nearing the end of the tour Capt 48 (King) was approached by a PTC Trooper asking for assistance. There was an incident that just occured on the turnpike at the plaza where an individual ran his motorcycle off the turnpike and into the woods, then running into the woods himself. Not knowing if the subject was injured or not the crews staffed up the apparatus and headed to the Mapleflower Rd area that parallel's along the turnpike. Once in the area the crews assisted PSPTP and the PSPE units in checking the side streets off of Mapleflower Rd that extend down to the turnpike, as well as going on foot into the woods with the Thermal Imaging Camera. After a little over an hour with no luck the State Police called the search off and the 48 units cleared. *ENG481 RES48 CHF/CMD48*
