At 10:19 today, a Working Fire dispatch was reported in the area of the 300 block of Indian Run Road in Wallace. Crews from Glen Moore and East Brandywine had received a smoke investigation outside on Rt 322 at 10:07am which turned out to be coming from a House Fire at 1109 Robertson Way at the former Camp Indian Run girl scout camp property which is now a private residence. Engine 48-1 arrived on location after dropping their 5" supply line down the driveway at 10:25am to find a heavy fire conditions. Engine 49 and Chief 49 arrived shortly behind Engine 48-1. Due to the length of the driveway, 2000' feet of 5" supply hose was utilized for water supply operations. Due to the limited water supply in the area, crews also utilized the 10,000 gallon storage tank in the neighboring development and called for a Tanker Task force and 2nd alarm. The fire was brought under control in approximately 1 hour. Crews from Glen Moore, East Brandywine, Honey Brook, Twin Valley, Wagontown, Lionville, Ludwig's Corner, Westwood, and Gap battled the blaze. Elverson Ambulance and Medic 93 provided EMS fire support. Special Thanks to Lancaster County Tanker 3-2 (Blue Ball) for covering our district and helping assist with getting our equipment back in service. The fire was investigated by the Chester County and State Police fire marshals offices and was ruled accidental. Our sincere condolences to the family for their loss of a pet dog in the fire.
