Labor Day in the United States is celebrated on the first Monday in September. It honors the American labor movement and the contributions that workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of their country.
This Labor Day the volunteers were dispatched @ 1134 hrs to the 100 block of Hopewell Rd in East Brandywine Twp to assist station 49 on the house fire. East Brandywine PD went on scene with a working fire, at that time the WFD (working fire dispatch) was added to the assignment. CHF49 (John Edwards) arrived on scene and established Hopewell Rd Command with a report of the 1st and 2nd floors involved. The crews from ENG485, ENG481, and SQD48 arrived and assisted with fire suppression, ventilation and overhaul of the structure. With the bulk of the fire knocked down and making good progress, the incident was placed under control with all units working on overhaul at 1203 hrs. All units cleared the fire scene at 1403 hrs.
