| On Friday February 24th the Department was dispatched to an auto-accident at Bondsville Road in the area of North Bailey.
The initial dispatch reported an accident with injuries. Chief 49 arrived shortly after dispatch and determined they had a single vehicle crash and upgraded the nature to entrapment.
Upon upgrading the nature of the accident, Rescue 38 and Medic 93 were added to the assignment.
Upon arrival of Engine 49 the car was stabilized, access to the patient had already been accomplished and patient assessment was on going.
Crews from both Engine 49 and Engine 48 quickly went to work removing the roof, passenger side doors, and the "B" post. Additionally the vehicle had struck a guardrail, which intruded significantly into the vehicle. The guardrail was cut and removed in an effort to remove the patient. Upon arrival of Rescue 38, crews prepared for a dash roll if necessary. Engine 48 crews also provided fire suppression support. Chief 49 had Command and Chief 48 had Operations.
Medic 93 and Ambulance 144 personnel arrived and care was transferred to them upon their arrival.
As always our thoughts are with the patient, and were praying for a full recovery. |
