By Glen Moore Fire Company
January 11, 2024

On Tuesday evening, during the height of the storm, the volunteers of the Glen Moore Fire Company responded to several emergency calls for automatic alarms and downed power lines. Fortunately, there were no injuries or property damage associated with these emergencies.

If you see downed power lines...

1. Never go near a downed or fallen electric power line.
2. Do not assume a downed power line is safe simply because it is on the ground, or it is not sparking.
3. Do not assume that any wire is a harmless telephone, television, or fiber-optic cable, and does not carry a lethal current.
4. Treat everything electrical as energized until tested and proven to be de-energized.
